Iryna Hordiieva

Iryna Hordiieva is a speech and language therapist, a defectologist, and an aphasiologist working with post-stroke patients.

All my knowledge and experience are focused on working with people with special educational needs, supporting them in the educational process and in life.

I became interested in correctional education while working as a methodologist in a kindergarten. I noticed that the number of children with special educational needs was growing every year. When I realised that I lacked relevant knowledge, I got a degree in psychology and became a psychologist and consultant to health facilities.

I work with:

  • children with mental retardation, intellectual disabilities, hearing impairment of I-II degree (including children with cochlear implants)
  • children with severe speech impairments (sensorimotor alalia, general speed underdevelopment of level I-II)
  • children with written language disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia),
  • young children, people with aphasia.

I am proficient in neuropsychological diagnostics and correction; I also prepare children with SEN for school, and have vast experience in supporting individuals with SEN in inclusive environments.
