About the project

"One among themselves" is a project of comprehensive psychosocial support, rehabilitation and social adaptation for families raising children with special educational needs (in particular, with autism spectrum disorders - ASD). The initiative was implemented by the NGO "Confidence CPD" in the format of an inclusive family camp.

The project is built on the principle of an ecosystem approach, where qualified assistance is provided simultaneously to the entire family system: children with ASD, their parents, as well as brothers and sisters (siblings), who often feel a lack of parental attention due to the family’s forced focus on the specifics of one child’s development.

The goal of the project is to ensure the soft adaptation of children with OOP in society through the development of their communication and everyday skills, as well as to provide systematic psychological assistance to parents in order to restore their internal resources and prevent emotional burnout.

A separate task was to create a favorable microclimatic environment within the family by strengthening ties between parents, children with ASD and their siblings.
