“Life Goes On”

The elderly often find themselves in difficult socio-economic conditions, with no money for treatment and food. This leads to strong distress, which can cause stroke and depression.

In 2020, the CPH Confidence implemented the “Life Goes On” project, which consisted of psychological follow-up, support and rehabilitation of older people through music and art therapy, which accelerate recovery and significantly reduce the rehabilitation period. As a result, people returned to their families in a stable psychological state.

Within the project, participants learned to find resources for their future lives in a circle of like-minded people. Individual and group correction using art therapy techniques helped them accept and understand their illness, their new physical and mental image, and take responsibility for their recovery and restoration. People learned to establish quality contacts, support themselves (self-reliance), control and understand their emotions and condition.

During the project, most patients increased their physical activity; improved speech and motor functions, coordination and memory; improved mood, stabilised their psycho-emotional state and general well-being; became more optimistic about life, reduced anxiety, and learned to control their emotions.

Participants admit having achieved the main goal of transferring the experience gained during the therapy sessions to everyday life.
